Photo: Daniel Cruz Photography

8 Things You Can Do Now To Prep For Your Summer Wedding
Wednesday, April 22, 2015
Noon - 1:00pm

Wedding Season is coming up, which means your wedding is right around the corner, too.  You're probably knee-deep in RSVP land and food tastings, but what else should you do to prep for the Big Day? What questions do you need to answer, what numbers (financial and guest-wise) do you need to crunch, what details do you need to cover?

This free teleseminar is the first in my Wedding Countdown Series this spring, and it's open to everyone who's signed up for my Charmed Weddings e-newsletter - I'm emailing out the call-in phone number tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1pm.

If you get my newsletter, you'll also receive a link to the mp3 of the call on Wednesday evening.  If you don't get my newsletter, sign up for it on my website by clicking here.  And as a bonus, you'll automatically receive my  tip sheet, "10 Things You Need to Know About Planning a Wedding in Los Angeles."

I'll also be taking questions at the end, any questions you text to 323-592-9318. So, if you're not already on my newsletter list, sign-up here, get the call-in info tomorrow, and I'll "see" you on Wednesday.

When Your Wedding Isn't The Only Wedding

My article this week on The Broke Ass Bride is UP:

Photo: Chasing Glimpses Photography

We got an email from a bride who has been invited to two other weddings this year, on the same day, on the other side of the country. Two. Yes, it's definitely that time of year, not to mention that time of your life. Your wedding is not the only show in town, it's not even the only one you have tickets to. She'd love to go to both weddings, is that possible? She doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, which is an easy thing to do when everyone is on social media. Or should she just choose one? And, if so,  how does she do that?

What "Both" Looks Like
So, you're going to one ceremony and one reception, that's the least complicated way to do it. From the time you sit down the end of the ceremony is going to be an hour. The cocktail hour, is well, an hour. And then there's dinner, immediately afterward. And somewhere in there you've got to get from Wedding A to Wedding B.

My Favorite Wedding Idea is Just One Thought

Welcome to our April Blog Hop!This month we are focusing on our favorite wedding ideas to help you in the process of planning your wedding or event. Get ready for some great ideas, inspiration and how to as you move along through the blog hop.You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Made of Honor Weddings on Natalie’s Blog Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you make sure to see and learn from all of the articles featured here today.

I love my job.  I've seen and helped create so many cool wedding ideas, like this one:

My bride last month found this picture on A Practical Wedding and decided to carry balloons as a bouquet. I'm waiting on her pictures, but trust me for now, it was even cooler than this.

And this one:

Yes, that's a wedding pinata. That this couple made. Their guests had so much fun whacking it, and then diving into the candy like 5 year olds.

Ooh, and this one:

Two words: SMORES BAR. Planter, rocks, sterno cans. Easy to make, and just yummy. I may have had a few, but I will neither confirm or deny that.

These were some great ideas.
But I have one favorite wedding idea, that I've seen created again and again, despite any stress that happens before the big day. And it's the one idea that a lot of couples have a hard time believing is going to happen:

Your wedding is going to be a wonderful, extraordinary wedding day. With more smiles and laughter than you can imagine. All the ingredients are there: Everyone you love, all your family and friends, side by side with the love of your life. And the relief and joy you feel that you're finally all here together, to celebrate:

Oh, and Happy Anniversary, Raewyn and Iman!

And it happens every time:

My favorite part of every wedding day is watching you have fun, and hear you laugh, while I'm cleaning up, and giving further instructions, and checking on the coffee pot, or whatever. Repeating old jokes, creating new ones, kicking off your shoes and heading to the dance floor. And I say to you, "Look what you did, you guys. Look what you created."

This will also happen at your wedding, I promise. All you have to do is believe it, and you'll see it, too.
