Michelle and Joe - September 19th

I've been waiting impatiently for these pics ever since I coordinated their wedding at the Los Angeles Cathedral. Michelle is just such a beautiful bride, and right before the wedding, I told Joe, "she is a knock-out, you are not going to believe how gorgeous your new wife is!", and afterwards, he laughed and said to me, "you weren't lying!" Check out Photographer Kim Fox's blog and see what an awesome job she did.

Now I just have to wait impatiently for Cheryl and Paul's wedding pictures...Jen..Nate..hello?

Wedding Wise Wednesday - October 28th

Where I've Been:
I just got back from 10 lovely days in Italy with my husband - Rome, Florence and that's us in on the Piazza San Marco in Venice on our last day there. So funny - I was telling someone that the last time I went to Italy, I wanted to live in Florence, and this time I wanted to die in Venice. That floating city has some powerful mojo, I'm telling you.

So much is happening in Wedding World...
For one thing, my new listing is up on The Knot, so, yay, Me!Thanks to Jen and Nate from B&G Photography for the pic. Go to the website, click on the link, contact me to talk about your wedding. It's just that simple.

For another thing, the makers of the Bride Guide iphone app are coming out with Groom Guide, and need your help picking the Splash screen for it. As a thank you, you'll get a code to download the app for free once it's available. I picked #6, because sometimes I'm just not right. Which one do you like?

My #1 DYI Wedding Rule:

If I can do it, you can do it...or I can do it for you. Inspired Bride has instructions for such a project, this winter-inspired candy buffet centerpiece (try saying that three times fast). As a commenter notes, if you don't paint the branches and get different colored birds, it works for any season.

The FYI On Pre-Owned Gowns:

It's a great way to save money on your dream dress, and Bride's Cafe got the skinny on how to get the best out of it from Dream Bridal L.A., a local service that carries once worn gowns.

The Deals:
Rose Petal Bridal in Toluca Lake (Burbank) is holding an off the rack sale this Saturday, yes, Halloween, from 10-5pm. You can get up to 75% off gowns (everyone's), veils, and accessories. GO.

Beacoup Fine Favors is having a site wide sale, 10 - 15% off their inventory.

Whoops, Not Done With the Contests:
How about two dream wedding giveaways? Stay here in Los Angeles for the Southern California contest or head up north with your nearest and dearest to San Francisco. Submissions for L.A. just started last week and you can enter through January, BUT, the San Franciso contest is closing on November 25th. Have fun!

November is going to be great - there is so many cool wedding events coming up, you won't even believe it. Can't wait to start bringing them to you next week!

See you at the end of the aisle,

Liz C.

Wedding Wise Wednesday - It's Fall! Don't You LOVE this weather?

So happy! I put on socks for the first time yesterday, and my husband made a big bowl of butternut squash soup for dinner. The only one in my household who's not thrilled is our dog, Hailey, who just got her fur trimmed last week and is now spending most of her time curled up in a shivering little ball, peering up at me mournfully. Gonna have to time that better next year. Sorry, Hailey.
Today at 6:30pm is my first Charmed Circle Consultation call, your chance to ask a wedding professional (that would be me), any and all questions you have about your wedding. RSVP to, to be entered in a drawing to win the newest copy of Here Comes the Guide, and the gift bag I got at Sunday's bridal show, which has over $1000 worth of discounts and coupons from some of California's best wedding vendors. Get your entry in before 2pm today. For more info and the call-in number for tonight, go to

Squee of the Week:

Oh, my God, is this not the prettiest rose you have ever seen? It's called the Circus Rose, just the perfect Fall wedding flower, and it's praises as such are being sung loud and clear right now on Wedding Aces.

Wedding Shoes For 20 bucks. Need I say more?
Shelley George is having a clearance sale on all their shoes and handbags - everything is $19.99. You're Welcome! And thanks to the new love of my life, Laptop Bride, for the tip.

Organic = Eco-Friendly = SAVINGS!
Wedvert - is proving this once again with their article, "10 easy ways to save on organic flower arrangements". My favorite? Asking your guests to pluck the flowers from your table arrangements to toss during your send-off at the end of the reception.

The Events:
Rose Petal Bridal
Weekend Blowout Sale
Oct 9 - 11, 2009
12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
They're making way for new inventory, which means you get to save up to 75% on the old inventory. GO.
10212 Riverside Drive
Toluca Lake, CA 91602

No Wedding Wise Wednesday next week, since I'm out of town. Well, not so much out of town as out of the country - Italy. I know, right? I'll send pictures!

See you at the end of the aisle,

Liz C.

A Practical Wedding: DJ-ing your Wedding With An Ipod

Over at A Practical Wedding, Meg wrote a post a couple of days about this, which was just spot on. I always say that Ipod DJ-ing is doable, but there are rules, and here they are. Enjoy.

I love stuff like this:

Paulette's Macaron's in Beverly Hills makes Parisian Macrons (not so much as macaroons as divinity cookies with filling) in tons of different colors and flavors. I always say that the best favors are the ones that you can eat and the ones you'll remember, and this certainly fits the bill. Thanks to L.A. Style Unveiled for the tip and the pic.

And I really can't believe I haven't seen this before: For the Modern Bride makes these beautiful card boxes that you can match to your wedding colors: And even better, The Broke Ass Bride is giving away a custom-made one as part of her Wedding in a Week Contest. Which ends this week, so enter, already.

Also, remember, the next Recession Bride's Workshop is this Sunday, and registration is only $10 online. Cocktails, Cake, and money-saving tips. Also, the first Charmed Circle Virtual Wedding Consultation Call is next Wednesday at 6:30pm, and it's free, so sign up and bring your wedding planning questions.

See you at the end of the aisle,

Liz C.
